Post ACTA, Hidden corperate control of internet for the world
I don't like to push politics here, but this effects everyone on the planet that uses the internet (like you now).
Make a stand now, or forever be controlled by corporate America..

You may or may not have heard of the ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement).
Maybe not as it has been done in secret after all..
The first big wrong of it as It's blatantly anti-constitutional (USA).

They proclaim (the real people behind ACTA) the agreement is designed to reduce the flow of fake physical goods.
But it's real purpose is to control the internet for the entire world, and make everyone an instant criminal if they (knowingly or not) download something that might be copyrighted.

It's an obvious flanking maneuver heavily funded (read, bought politicians) by MPAA and RIAA corporate lobbyists.
Being secret, and hiding the broad sweeping internet laws behind the guise of "reducing the flow of fake physical goods across borders".
The entertainment industry seeks to make everyone a criminal, and anything that cuts into there profits illegal regardless of anyone's rights, and lively hood et al.
Circumventing "Internet neutrality" laws, making ISPs responsible for what users download, and making them spies on their customers, will almost certainly result directly in increased internet rates for everyone world wide.
Also IMHO this will just push yet more industries off shore (out of the USA).
Plus these people are totally trying to circumvent the legal process by bypassing congressional oversight, thus not allowing America to even have a say in it.

Read about it here, and if you are in the USA you can write to stop it:
https://secure.eff.org/site/Advocacy?cm ... ion&id=451

Else if you are outside of the USA, you can make people aware of this and ask your government to refuse all of the internet parts in it!

More and more corporate world is just thumbing it's nose, and giving the middle finger to the world!
They don't care about our today nor our tomorrow.
It's all about profit at what ever the short and long term costs to any individual or group.

You know, there's a reason I don't read the EFF anymore. I used to love their website and their cause... but now it's just a glaring reminder of how messed up things have gotten. CARP, DMCA, Patriot, etc...

Be sure to write to your state Senators, Representatives/Congressmen if you are in the USA, or what ever your government officials are in your Country (this ACTA thing is a world-wide corporate/special-interest group attack) in opposition to ACTA.

Fighting for rights is tantamount/related with having them in the first place.
Do you really want the corporations, government (they do to some extent already) to control, spy on, and police your Internet? Force your ISP to disconnect you just on the suggestion that you are doing something "illegal", or wrong?

They are at it again. Now it's called "PIPA".
These sociopathic corporations (MPAA, RIAA and their big backers like Sony) are relentless.
They keep pushing the same thing, trying to bypass the will and proper representation by the people, ultimately trying to control the internet.

This, despite the MPAA having record years in movie profits.
And the RIAA still trying to hold on to an dead business model that has basically been about exploiting the artist for the past 80 years.
Also this control, the ultimate costs to the consumer, etc., are way beyond issues of just "pirates".
Furthermore, even if they eliminated the larger part of pirating (which probably they can't anyhow since pirates will just change to an unaffected avenue) it wouldn't amount to much profit; maybe 10% at best.

About it here:

If you are in the USA please write to your Senator and Representatives by simply filling this in on the EFF site:
